That is, they have four limbs that have an epidermis (outer layer of skin) composed of horny scales or scutes. These animals can lay eggs in terretrial environments. The eggs possess an amniotic membrane, making it relatively impermeable. Males acquire a well-developed and paired copulatory organs. They reproduce sexually through internal fertilization. Such organisms have lungs for respiration and a heart as part of the circulatory system. |
