Sexual reproduction takes place in the fruiting body - basidia. Plasmogamy results in hyphae with two types of nuclei. Some cells undergot fusion of these two nuclei and produce diploid cells. Meiosis produces four haploid nuclei. They form four individual projections and become spores. Asexual reproduction consists of budding or asexual spore formation.
