Animals in this phylum are characterized by their polyp and edusa. They are simple invertebrates that live in water. They have a digestive cavity with only one opening that serves as both the mouth and the anus. They catch their food using their armlike, stinging tentacles. Their bodies are byradically symmetric. They do not have internal orgnas or a central nervous system.
